'Mr Piccalo' the cat - a commission by my beauty therapist as he approaches his 9 lives.

I recently started art classes to learn about human portraits but loved it so much I decided to continue with it. This was my first pet portrait in oil paint, with a single colour under painting using acrylic on canvas (a technique which was new to me), using grids.

I'm a cat person... cat's seem familiar and much easier to paint than dogs for that reason.

I do not have a pet myself, so I took the opportunity to pre sell some artwork.
